At FreightDATA Software, we take pride in our rich history and the evolution of our software solutions. Our story begins in the late 1970s when we were known as Software Development Associates (SDA), providing accounting systems to CPAs. It was in 1984 when the principles of SDA were contracted by a Los Angeles-based carrier to develop a trucking interface for the Less-than-Truckload environment. This marked the beginning of our journey in transportation management software and set us on the path to becoming one of the industry’s leading software providers.
In 1989, IBM approached us to migrate our system to run on the IBM RS/6000 platform and its version of Unix. Over the next several years, our application evolved to support the Truckload, Drayage/Intermodal, Warehouse, and Logistics environments. We continued to integrate new solutions to support Imaging, EDI, Web Tracing, and Web Rating technologies, keeping pace with the latest technological advancements and providing extended solutions to our customers.
In January 2002, we officially renamed ourselves FreightDATA Software to better reflect our focus on the transportation industry. We continued to innovate and broaden our applications suite, which now includes additional wireless solutions and the Over-the-Road suite of applications.
